Want to know how Pinefields makes your Christmas Tree?
Pinefields is a professional Christmas Tree factory. Some people are curious about how we make those beautiful Christmas Trees in big scale on the real production lines. Well, different styles of trees might involve quite different processes. However, the basic way is not that difficult. Let’s walk into the workshop for a check!
1. First, we have these materials, PVC sheets, or PVC needles, or PE tips. They have different characters and can be in different colors or shapes. They are the main materials for an artificial Christmas tree and will decide the final appearance of the whole tree when done.

We put the above materials, PVC sheet or Needles, along with the iron wires, onto the automatic, leave-twisting, machines. Different materials use different machines.
The machines will cut the PVC or NEEDLE and twist them into the kind of long strings of Leaves at the same time. For PE tips, this process is no need because PE tips are made by plastic mold in a different way.
3. Now, it’s the time to cut the long strings of Leaves into Tips of different sizes. The length of the tips are decided according to the design of the whole tree. Normally they might be 7” to 11” long, for different use in the later processes. The intended sizes are pre-set on the machines to ensure the correct sizes are cut.
4. In this step, we wrap the Tips, done in the above process, on a straight, thick and hard iron wire. In this way a tree Branch is done. If there are decorations, like berries, pinecones etc., they are added into the branch at the same time:
5. The Branches need to be processed further, to be ready for the use of HINGE construction. For that, we have a machine to bend the end of a branch into the circle shape.
6. We fix the Metal Hinges on the tree poles, with correct distances between each other. Then, the Circle of a branch made in the above process is to be put in the Hinge, and to be fixed in it with a rivet. One by one, layer by layer, all branches are to be fixed into the tree poles. In the Hinge construction, a Christmas tree can be opened or closed easily.
7. Finally, the finished tree bodies, 1 or 3 sections, along with the tree-top, the tree base… are to be put in the carton. Till now, a basic Artificial Christmas Tree is done. Have you learned it? We welcome your comments or inquiries. Thank you!
